If I Die Young
"If I Die Young"
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
Uh oh, uh oh
Lord make me a rainbow, I’ll shine down on my mother
She'll know I’m safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh and
Life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time
And I’ll be wearing white, when I come into your kingdom
I’m as green as the ring on my little, cold finger, I’ve
Never known the lovin' of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand, there’s a
Boy here in town says he’ll, love my forever
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time
So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls
What I never did is done
A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I’ll sell them for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I’m a goner
And maybe then you’ll hear the words I been singin’
Funny when your dead how people start listenin’
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
Uh oh (uh, oh)
The ballad of a dove (uh, oh)
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep ‘em in your pocket
Save them for a time when your really gonna need them, oh
The sharp knife of a short life, well
I’ve had, just enough time
So put on your best boys and I’ll wear my pearls
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a, bed of roses
Sink me in the river, at dawn

Words can be worth a thousand pictures, just as a picture is worth a thousand words.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Black bird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free
Roll Tide! |
So true! |
I love seeing two people in love. As for me, I've found out that being in love is too hard. But maybe one day when I meet someone It'll just come easy. |

Friends
So, I know I havent been writing daily, but I've been soo busy lately I just haven't had time!
The last couple of days, I have been spending a lot of time with my good friends! One, because Evelyn left Jackson today for good ( but I don't blame her!) and two, ....do I really need any other reason!? Friends are hard to find especially in a small school like Belhaven... ( which is where we played soccer and ocassionally went to class, haha..no we had to attend class or we would fail!) Although it was a small school, I played soccer so it was easier because I was always around my team and we all created some form of bond; whether it was teammate to teammate, classmate to classmate or friend to friend. Of course, you're not going to get along with everyone on your team but you make the most of it! or at least I do!
I tend to make friends with people that are kind of similar to me; I like to laugh so I try and surround myself with funny people! I'm not too serious so I don't make friends with people older than me. I'm very laid back, so I don't make friends with people that have chaotic lives! haha I'm pretty bad at keeping in touch with friends too. But I'm trying! I hardly keep in touch with friends from high school, which I regret totally! I wish I had kept our bond as strong as when I left highschool but that's the circle of life. I mean You have old friends and you get new friends. Friends don't always stay the same throughout your life. In middle school, you have a "best friend", but you grow up and you become to have differences and by highschool, you're making new friends! A lot of the time, highschool friends remain friends throughout each others lives! In college, when you really figure out who you are, you attach to new people.
My freshmen year in college, I met Evelyn! haha, yes Evelyn Torres! I remember the first time I tried to say hey to her leaving our first practice in preseason! ...she straight ignored me. I was trying to be nice and say hey and she walks past me! haha , but yea... we've been best friends since! We've had so many crazy memories that I couldnt even list them out; there would be too many to count! We definitely made the best of our college days! There were laughs; there were tears; there were moments when we got mad at each other, but we survived the four years! Here's our four years in a nut shell:
Freshmen Year
We both had boyfriends so we did not go out at all first semester! Boo!
Second semester, Millsaps was the hot spot! I hung out with my brother and his basketball team a lot and we would go to all the fraternity parties there! lol Good times! Favorite memory was probly hanging with Robdog and the making him do dances for us and sing rap songs!
Sophomore year
We moved out of the dorms and into an apartment with another teammate! All of us hated the dorms! So it made life a little bit more simple this year. Ev found herself a boyfriend! and I was living the single life of course! Favorite memory of sophomore year would have to be the night at Cazuelas when Ev threw up in the cigarette bowl!!
Junior Year
Ev moved in with her sister, Jenifer! The thing I remember most this year is the night we made up our dance!!!
me: " I have the perfect song for our dance ...wait"
- OHHH I ve been waiting on this road too long, trying to find my way back home. The phone beats dead and gone, dead and gone-
Senior year
We are roommates again!! I really dont have any words for this year,,,haha I mean it was a pretty ballin year!lol Starting from our last soccer season to Mardi Gras= fun! Our house parties= sometimes successful! haha
I love you Evelyn!! See you in June for your birthday, just another crazy memory for us!
Till next time,
